About this opportunity
Maersk is inviting young South Africans to apply for its YES Learnership 2026/2027 in Cape Town. This one-year programme is aimed at unemployed youth who want to gain experience in one of the world's largest logistics and supply chain companies while building the professional skills needed for future employment.
The programme forms part of South Africa's Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, which helps unemployed young people gain meaningful workplace experience.
During the 12 months, successful applicants become part of Maersk's Cape Town operations, supporting different business teams while learning how international logistics, freight and supply chain services are managed every day.

Responsibilities
- Supporting teams with daily operations depending on department placement
- Helping with customer queries
- Updating business records
- Assisting with administrative work
- Working alongside operations teams
- Supporting projects that keep the business running efficiently
- Collaborating with colleagues from different departments to understand global business functions
Requirements
- South African citizen
- Between 18 and 30 years old
- Completed Grade 12 (Matric)
- Not permanently employed
- Less than two years of work experience
- Not have participated in a YES Learnership before
- Willing to commit to the full 12-month programme
