The programme is designed for individuals who want to build a career in financial services and insurance. During the 12-month learnership, participants will spend time learning through structured training and practical workplace experience at an AVBOB branch. Learners who successfully complete the programme will earn an NQF Level 4 qualification in Long-Term Insurance that is recognised within the South African insurance sector.

Responsibilities

Throughout the programme, learners will receive training that introduces them to the daily operations of the long-term insurance industry. Depending on their placement, participants may gain experience in:

  • Customer service and client support.
  • Insurance administration processes.
  • Policy documentation and record management.
  • Office administration and professional communication.
  • Understanding insurance products and services.
  • Workplace ethics and professionalism.
  • Teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.
  • Basic compliance and regulatory requirements within the insurance industry.

Requirements

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  • Have successfully completed Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Have passed English together with Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, or Accounting.
  • Be currently unemployed.
  • Not be registered for another qualification or educational programme during the learnership.
  • Have never participated in or completed another learnership programme.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be willing to learn and work in a professional environment.
  • Have basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet usage.
  • Be prepared to work at any AVBOB branch where learnership opportunities are available.
