CSIR-Sasol Foundation Bursary 2027

The CSIR-Sasol Foundation Bursary is a collaborative initiative between the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Sasol Foundation. The programme is designed to support South African students pursuing undergraduate qualifications in priority fields critical to the country's future, including science, engineering, and technology.

Beyond financial aid, the programme focuses on holistic development, offering recipients mentorship, vacation work, and psychosocial support to bridge the gap between academic study and professional employment.

• Maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout the duration of the bursary.
• Adhere to all bursary conditions and university regulations.
• Complete a work-back obligation for each year of funding received.
• Participate in vacation work and mentorship programmes as required.

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must be unemployed.
• Accepted or planning to register for full-time study at a South African public university in 2027.
• Grade 12 learners require strong results in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and English.
• Current university students must have a minimum 65% average and have passed all modules.
• Preference is given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and NSFAS beneficiaries.
• Required documents: Certified ID, updated CV, latest academic results, and proof of university admission/registration.
