SANParks Bursary 2027 Application & Requirements

The SANParks External Bursary Programme 2027 is designed to support young people from communities located near national parks while helping develop the next generation of professionals in conservation, tourism, engineering, environmental management and other scarce skills.

Fields of Study Supported:

• Environmental and Conservation (Nature Conservation, Environmental Science, etc.)
• Tourism and Hospitality (Resort Management, Tour Guiding, etc.)
• Engineering and Infrastructure (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
• Technical and Artisan Trades (Electrician, Plumber, Welder, etc.)
• Emerging Scarce Skills (GIS, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Renewable Energy)

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Live in a community neighbouring or adjacent to a South African National Park.
• Be accepted or have applied to an accredited public university, university of technology, college or TVET college for full-time studies.
• Meet the household income threshold of R350,000 or less per year.
• Be entering post-Matric studies in 2027 or be an existing student who has passed all modules.

Funding for tuition and registration at accredited public institutions for degrees, diplomas, and technical trades.
