Examination Assistant Applications Now Open by WCED

If you're a university student looking for a way to earn extra income while gaining work experience, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) recruits Examination Assistants during the National Senior Certificate (Matric) examination periods. These temporary positions are popular among students because they offer paid work over a relatively short period while supporting one of the country's biggest examination processes.

Every year, thousands of matric examination papers need to be sorted, checked, captured and processed before results can be released. Examination Assistants help with these administrative tasks at designated marking centres across the Western Cape.

• Sorting and organising examination scripts.
• Capturing marks on computer systems.

• Be registered as a full-time tertiary student.
• Be a second-, third-, or fourth-year student (First-year students are not eligible).
