The role requires technical support within Amazon's data centres, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate at 100% availability while maintaining first-class service. You will work on equipment supporting mission-critical servers, such as stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, chillers, cooling towers, and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support for mechanical and electrical infrastructure to ensure 100% availability.
  • Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Managing building workflows using internal Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems and pumps.
  • Interacting with third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Taking daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Assisting with maintenance of stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, chillers, and cooling towers.

Requirements

Applicants must be South African citizens, possess professional English proficiency, and be available for on-site work.

  • Completed or near completion of a higher education qualification (NQF level 4-6) or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
